By Kai Lo

There are many “SEO Gurus” that will tell you commenting on blogs can boost your pageranking a lot. These gurus are also the ones with page rank of 0. My blog is only one month old, and it is already PR 2. While there are people who claim they can get PR 4+ in less than a month, I am here to tell you what really works to increase your page rank FREE.

Your link to your site inside blog comments does not matter much to Google! It matters more to some search engines, but definitely not Google. It does not matter if the blog is DoFollow or NoFollow because Google is not looking into it seriously. I posted so many great comments in DoFollow blogs, and they did nothing to boost my page ranking. Trust me, I looked up DoFollow blog lists on Google, and commented on hundreds of blogs. If blog commenting mattered a lot to Google pageranking, wouldn’t a lot of people have high page ranks by now since there are quite a few of blogs that are DoFollow with 5+ page ranking.

You might be asking this question to yourself, “Why should I even bother with commenting then?” Because you want to get noticed! Posting comments like “nice post!” will not get you noticed. You want to add value into the discussion, and that will get the author of the blog to notice you. Ask good questions or let the author know about something that was missing in the post. Those two are just basic ideas.

What happens when you get noticed? The author might write a post base on your comment. The author might write a review post about your site. The author might write at the end of his post, “Check out this website (link), you can learn a lot from this guy about making money online”. The possibilities are endless. Basically, when someone writes about you or your website, they would generally add a backlink to your site inside the post. If the person did not add a backlink to your site, you can ask nicely to include one. You have a much better chance of getting noticed when your site has a similar niche as the author.

Although Google does not care much about links inside comments, Google cares about links INSIDE the posts. Get people to notice you, and they will eventually write about you and your site. Links inside posts are the best quality backlinks you can get. To sum it all up, always write great comments if you are going to write them, and you will be rewarded sooner or later.

SEO articles are one of the most effective online marketing strategies that any webmaster can use to drive vast amounts of traffic to their website. Search engine optimized articles or SEO articles for short, are articles specially written for the search engines. However they must also serve potential customers and so the articles need to be written in an informative and natural way as well.

Most SEO articles are between 350-500 words long including the title. The majority of webmasters understand the need for keyword research and for SEO articles keyword research is crucial. Once you know the primary and secondary keywords that you want to target for your website, you can then use them by writing articles that include them or you can outsource the work to professional SEO article writers who can write them for you.

Opinion seems to differ among SEO companies as to the correct keyword density, the amount of times a keyword needs to be placed into an article. Some say 0.5% and others 5%. Any more than that and no doubt Google would see the content as being keyword stuffed so it is safe to opt for around the 3% mark. You also find that the higher the keyword density the less likely that the article will still sound natural.

Once a SEO article has been written then the fun begins. Obviously you can post them onto your own website or blog and if you have placed long tail keywords that look more like phrases into the article you could find your website on page one in the search engines for that keyword when it is searched for.

You can submit the articles to article directories like EzineArticles.com. If you do this however you would need to add a resource box at the bottom with a link to your site like the one below. The advantages to this strategy are twofold, firstly potential customers will find your article, like what you have written and eagerly click through to your website for more information. The other advantage is that other webmasters who have websites, blogs or newsletters etc are given the opportunity to download your article keeping your resource box and website link intact. Again potential customers will find the article albeit somewhere else and can click through to your site.

By posting your articles onto the higher ranking article directories, websites, blogs or newsletters, the more traffic those articles will generate to your site. More traffic = more sales! And the very fact that your site is linked from those high ranking sites increases your own sites rankings. So it’s a win-win situation!

Article Marketing is the best free source of traffic on the Internet. And it is fairly easy to create.

Now that I have made that rather bold claim, let me back it up.

On old internet adage is

Don’t chase after traffic. Find out where the traffic is going and then get in front of it.”

Article marketing is a great example of this saying. For instance, EzineArticles is the number one Article Directory on the Internet. At the time of this writing, they currently get 15 million unique visitors a month. Breaking it down, that’s 500,00 (half a million) unique visitors a day, or about 21, 000 an hour. You want to get your articles in front of this kind of traffic.

How to Get Started

Make a list of 7 tips on a topic in your niche. Add about 50 words per tip. That’s a 350 word article. Now take each tip and expand on it, and turn each tip into an article. You began with a list of 7 tips and now you have 8 articles. Get these articles up in front of 15 million unique sets of eyes each month.

How to Know What to Write About Next

Once you have about ten articles written and published on EzineArticles, here is a little insider’s tip on how to know what to write about next.

Log in to your EzineArticles account. Click on “Author Tools.” Click on “View My Article Reports.” You’ll see all of your published articles at once, along with the statistics on your articles. Pay close attention to the articles that are getting the most views and click-thrus. A “view” means that someone has looked at and read your article. A “click-thru” means someone had clicked on the link(s) in your Resource Box to visit your web site or blog.

The articles with the higher number of views and click-thrus are the topics you need to write about more and more. Your audience is voting and telling you what they want to know more about. Pay attention to this. More quality articles on what your audience has told you they want more of equals more traffic from your articles.

And to jump start your article creation for more traffic, you can claim your Free Instant Access to 2 of my Instant Article Creation Templates when you visit http://www.TheArticleGuyBonus.com

With templates your article creation is “plug-n-play.” Simply plug in your information and you can quickly play in the game of generating more traffic with your articles.

Article marketing is a strategy of getting more exposure and one way back links to your website. In theory, its simply witting an article related to your website and posting it on public article directories (like ezinearticles.com) . Your hope is that other people like your article republish it on their website. You should have links back to your website included in the article so you will get back links from the other website which in turn will increase your page rank. Another likely outcome is more page view to your website since readers of the article will likely click on one of your links. I recommend posting the article to your blog also. Content on your website is very important. Dont worry about duplicate content because it really only matters when the duplicate content is on your site. I just say don’t post an article in two categories on your blog, that is duplicate content and your site rank may get penalized.

Now moving on I want to get into the technical side of this. When submitting your article to directories, you will need to pass strict grammar and content guidelines. Your article will get reviewed and may or may not be published. The size of the article should be 300 + words. I can’t emphasize enough that your article should not be stuffed with links back to your website, this just looks like spam and it won’t be approved by the editor. A maximum of two self serving links is the general limit for article directories. I recommend not writing articles on topics you don’t know much about. People are searching for informative or interesting content that they have not seen before. If you are writing high quality articles that are actually useful and informative to readers then article marketing will work wonders for you because lots of people will want to re-publish your articles.

Before you sit down and start writing, I think it’s important to take a look at several example articles to get a better idea of what is expected. Some directories you can look through are:

articleteller.com

goarticles.com

articlecircle.com

articlesbase.com

Article writers and those that repost them on their website form a circular SEO relationship. The writer gets back links from the reposter’s website while the reposter gets SEO benefits from having good content on their website. This truly is a free but powerful SEO strategy that should not be overlooked.

Srinivasan V. K.

Article marketing is writing about a topic and distributing articles which comprise back links to the website that you wish to promote. It is one of the most popular online marketing tools to promote any business, their products and services. Article Marketing is very effective to get more traffic to your website. Start to write an article with a title. This is one of the most significant parts of any article. The title must convince the reader to read the whole article. Title should be brief, catchy, compelling and direct to the point. Use relevant keywords in the title of your article.

The first three words in the title must tell readers the essence of your article and also what information you have. If your title fails to grab reader’s attention, then they won’t continue to read your article. So no one will reach your resource box and ultimately there won’t be any traffic to your website. Use a longer phrase in your title so that the Search engines rank your website in higher position.

Begin your articles with the keywords that are best suitable to your product or service. You should focus on the purpose of creating the article. Divide your articles into short paragraphs so that your readers will understand your ideas more easily. The first paragraph should contain the most important and interesting information. Use bullets, list and subheadings to make your article legible.

Keep your article between 250 to 600 words in length. The most important thing of an article is that target viewers seeking for information in a particular niche should read the article. Your content should associate with your title. Do not write lengthy sentences as it would irritate the reader. Be informative and do not divert from the topic you have chosen. Consistently creating an article with solid content will bring you to the status of an expert author.

Make sure that the keyword is in the content of the article you’re writing. If your article has the relevant keywords to the topic, Google finds your article by the search engine and place it on the first page so that your article gets massive traffic. No need to pay for this advertising. If you provide useful tips in your article, then readers will get impressed and they will click on your link that you have placed in your resource box. Pay attention to the quality of the content and check the spelling and grammar of your article before submitting it to the article directory.

Once the article is written, start submitting your articles to article directories that will share it to millions of websites. Doing Google search you can find many free article directories and paid ones. You can submit articles online in any number of free article directories. This will increase your article marketing efforts and bring a lot of traffic to your website from potential customers. So keep submitting your articles on a regular basis… Every article should contain a resource box, which includes information about the author. It is where you promote your product or website. This should contain your name, the link of your website and a call to action, which convince the reader to click the link to buy your product. This will boost your websites rankings and bring more and more traffic. It is advisable that you do not include an email address for contact.

Maintain a record of all the articles you write and where they are submitted and the links you placed to your website from these articles, so that if there is any change, you can update your article and resubmit it. Now you have learned how to write an article. So start writing some articles and get the benefits of article marketing. I hope that this article will help you to compose any article of your choice.

SEO copywriting is an exploding niche. There are SEO writers routinely bill $25 to $100 per SEO article, or more. So then, why are there so many freelance writers who still struggle and take on $3 per article article writing gigs? Because they lack the following:

3 Keys to Becoming a $100 Per Article SEO Writer

1. Marketing Skills: Many SEO copywriters go to job boards that list poor-paying SEO article writing gigs because they don’t know how to market. Going to job boards is easy. After all, it’s where many of the jobs are. But, the lucrative SEO article writing gigs can’t be found on job boards — you have to ferret them out for yourself. This means learning how to marketing effectively.

2. Confidence: Many writers lack confidence in their skills. Thus, they find it hard to negotiate with clients. When you know that you’re good at what you do — and especially in a high-tech niche like SEO — you negotiate from a position of power. This means you command higher rates — because you know you’re worth it.

3. Negotiating Skills: Speaking of negotiating skills, keep the following in mind: clients pay not for the 400-600 word SEO articles you write for them, but for what those SEO articles do for their bottom line.

They may be selling a product or service that is worth thousands — and using your SEO copywriting skill to do it. Many who hire SEO writers either don’t have the time or skill to do their own writing. This means they need you as much as you need them. They’re not hiring you, they’re partnering with you. Always tune into this info when you’re negotiating rates.

Haven’t a clue as to what SEO article writing is? Read on.

What Is SEO Article Writing?

Basically writing articles with specific phrases that clients give you. FYI, SEO stands for search engine optimization. For example, if you owned a website that sold carpet, you would want a lot of articles with phrases like “carpet cleaning”; “carpet stains”; “carpet stores”; etc. on your site.

So, the client will email me and say, “May I have 3 articles with the keyword phrases (that’s what these phrases are called) “carpet cleaning”; “carpet stains”; and “carpet stores”. Make each article 400-500 words each, please.

You would write then write the articles on anything you want around these keyword phrases, ensuring that you repeat the keyword phrase at least 7-10 times. This helps drive traffic to the webmaster’s site (it’s called keyword density).

That’s SEO article writing in a nutshell. And, there are millions of websites that need this type of writing. The amazing thing for those who know how to write this kind of copy (SEO writers/copywriters) is that there is very little competition because the field is so new.

Becoming a $100 per article SEO writer is not hard, if you learn how to market, have confidence in your skills and learn do some research on SEO (it’s not rocket science, I promise!).

SEO article writing is a new functional art form. It appeals to two very different groups and the tactics used need to reflect the demands of both. Good SEO article writing appeals primarily to the web browsing public but only if well written and well targeted to the web browsers search preferences. Furthermore, SEO article writing needs to grab the readers’ attention, engage the customer’s thirst for knowledge and deliver satisfactory answers within just 500-600 words per article. SEO article writing is both technical and creative. Here are the steps necessary for really great SEO article writing.

First, you identify the topic phrase or keywords used by your target audience. For instance you want to bring ‘long-life’ bulbs to the buying public. ‘Long-life’ then becomes the keyword you need to use in several key places throughout your article. But we want to dig a little deeper here…

Secondly, in the SEO article writing process, make a list of words that relate to ‘long-life’ and ‘bulbs’. These words should be ones that ordinary people use all the time to describe them. This is an essential aspect of SEO article writing because these words are those that your potential site visitors will type into the search engines in order to find your website. So how about ‘eco’, ‘compact fluorescent’, ‘lamps’ and ‘lighting’ etc.

Thirdly you should do keyword research. It doesn’t take long with the aid of comprehensive research tools such as ‘Wordtracker’, ‘Wordze’ and ‘Keyword Discovery’. If you like the free options the above programs occasionally offer free trials or try ‘Google Keyword Tool’

Fourth, write a list of topics you believe would interest your audience. Then choose several and get writing! Consider all the angles you can use that relate to your topic or industry, think about common questions being asked by your audience and answer them in your article, consider providing information that your audience and potential customers would really want to read or would find particularly interesting so as to shed enlightenment and entertainment onto your articles. Typical SEO articles should be between 500 and 600 words. More than that, you’re wasting your time writing, readers have a short attention span. Review your SEO article and work in naturally those keywords and collocation phrases. Ensure your sentences link together and make sense. Make sure you only use one keyword several times in the article and once in the heading. People used to say 1-3% – The search engines are getting smarter, so simply put the keywords were appropriate. Also use a few synonyms of the keyword in the article. This will also help searches and your audiences find you for related terms.

Proof check the article for spelling and grammatical correctness. Most readers who visit your website, drawn by your SEO keywords, will mind bad grammar and spelling. Once you turn the reader off it is impossible to bring them back so make sure it’s correct.

Search engines won’t know a split infinitive from an anaphoric reference but your site visitors will. So quality content should always take preference over SEO.

Search engine algorithms are the second group of art lovers for your SEO article writing and when they appreciate your efforts they reward you by pushing your website, content or article higher and possibly on the first page of their search results.

So when the Google spiders come along and scan your article, they are looking for results to put in front of the reader who types “long life bulbs” into the Google home page. What happens then? It works incredibly quickly, searching through millions of Internet sites in seconds looking for very specific matches to the keywords. The more exact the match and the more matches within any one site’s text the higher the return ranking will be.

Of course the algorithm is not really an art lover. It can never appreciate the poetry that you pour into your SEO article writing prose. In fact it appreciates the spaces between your words and each individual letter in equal measure to number of keywords in your text. Fundamentally it loves a good ‘keyword dense’ piece of text. A minimum of 1-2 in every 100 words should be keywords and a further 1-2 of synonyms if you really want to turn the search engines on.

Some people will choose to hire an SEO service to optimize their websites, but there are two problems with this method. The first is that usually the SEO website services are very pricey and second, not all of the SEO website services that you can find online actually do a good job Here are 10 SEO Website tips that you can do yourself even if you are on a limited budget

1. Plan Your SEO Website from the Beginning.

Most people will create their websites without even thinking about whether or not their site will be found by the search engines. Only after the site has been created does the light bulb go and then maybe a few tweaks will be done in an attempt to make the site SEO friendly. Most people don’t realize that this should be done first, in the planning stage, not last as an after thought.

Selecting your domain name to include your keywords before the site even goes up should be your first thought. It is important for those keywords to be in your URL Images and file names should also have your keywords added to them. If they don’t, rename them before uploading them to your server.

For example, it is better for the search engine spiders to read an image that says dog-training-hound.jpeg than to read 03.jpeg, if your site is about dog training.

2. Plan Your Website SEO Design.

You want to plan your site for your visitor, or prospect, first and foremost. You site should be easy to navigate and easy for your visitors to read. It should be clean and uncluttered, clear and concise. Next you want it to be easy for the search engine bots to read as well.

The way the search bot spiders read your site is by reading the HTML code. Take a look at your site in the HTML view, or source view, of the HTML editor you are using. Take a look at your header image. Did you change the name to include your keyword or does it just say header.gif? Are you using images for your headlines instead of text? Have you used a flash format to create your site? If any of these things are there you haven’t given the search engine spiders anything to read. What this means is that they have no idea what your site is about. The search engine spiders must have text to read.

Next, if you are using java script or CSS style coding in the < HEAD> < /HEAD> segment of your page, it will work better for you if you put the java script code in an external file and put the CSS style coding in a separate CSS file. That way the search engine spiders can find and read the text just as easily as the human visitor.

3. Give Each Page It’s Own Title Tag

For search engine optimization, every single page of your website needs to be treated as if it is an entirely different website with a related theme. The most important aspect for the search engines is your < TITLE>< /TITLE>tag. The < TITLE>< /TITLE> tag tells the search engine what your page is about. What this means is that every page needs to have a different title tag to be search engine optimized. This will also prevent the search engines from thinking they have found duplicate content and skipping the page.

You want to use your keywords or keyword phrase at the front of the title, as much as possible. As an example, if your website is about training dogs, each page should be a different aspect of dog training, be it dog potty training or training a different breed on each page. So one page might be “Potting Training Your Dog” , while another might be, “Poodle Potty Training Tricks”. Whatever that page is about, it will need a title tag reflecting that information. Again, you do NOT want to duplicate any of the title tags on any of your pages.

4. Description Tags

The description of you page is what will show up on the search engine page. When you do a Google search, for example, that short little summary clip that you see for every website that comes up, is the information the webmaster put in the description tag. Your description with keywords is the second most important tag after the title tag.

Think about what words you would use if YOU were searching for the information you are providing. Use those words in your description. Use the Google Suggest tool to get ideas for more keyword phrases. The description should only be a few sentence summary as Google only displays about 150 to 160 characters. The description should be unique on every page and should reflect what the page is about. Think of the description as a small ad for your page. You should use a slightly different keyword order for the description than what you used in the page title tag. You could change plurals to singular, or change an acronym to a full description.

For example:

If “Training Sheltie Dogs to Fetch” was in my page title tag, my meta description might include something like “Leading fetch dog training techniques for Shelties”.

5. Use Keywords in Headlines, Headers and Sub-headers

While a human only needs to see headlines and headers in large, bold text, with different colors, search engine bots look for tags to distinguish the importance of word phrases on the web page. This is why you must use header tags, etc. to distinguish the importance of phrases, with being the most important headline, and being the least important.

6 Inserting Your Keywords and Keyword Phrases

Your keywords and keyword phrases should be peppered throughout your content within the body of the text. Don’t try to over stuff your content with keywords to the point that it doesn’t make sense to your human reader. A good rule of thumb would be a 2% density. In other words, a page of text with around 500 words would have the keyword repeated about 10 times.

Write good quality content as you normally would, and when you are finished, read your content aloud. If it doesn’t sound right you have probably tried to stuff it with too many keywords and should remove some to have it read smoothly.

7. Use Keywords and Keyword Phrases in Your Links

The next step is to add your keywords to your links. When you are linking to other pages in your web site, ensure that your keywords have been included as the clickable text of the link. Instead of having a link that says “click here” to get more information on dog training leashes, change that link to: To get more information about “dog training leashes” with the keywords “dog training leashes” being the anchor link or (clickable) text.

Use the alt=”" tags for your keywords on images too. Some people have their browsers set to block images so you want alt tags with a keyword description to show in place of the image. Use an alt=”" tag in links that may be affiliate links too.

8. Check Your Site Navigation

Usually a search engine spider bot will index the main page of a site and follow the available links to the other pages deep within the interior of the web site. However, if your home page navigation system is in java script, or you are using images instead of text, some of the search engines will not be able to read the links and will then skip the pages deep within your site.

One way around this is to create an additional text-link navigation bar and place it at the bottom of the page. This additional navigation bar will work three-fold.

Aide the search engines in indexing your other pages

Add more of your keywords to the “anchor text” links that you insert into the navigation bar .

Show the reader the links to your other pages as a reminder when they get to the bottom of the page.

9. Add a Sitemap

Helping the search engine bots find all of your pages, especially if you have a huge site with 1000’s of pages, is very important. A sitemap is a page that has text links to ALL of the pages within your site. The sitemap also serves multiple purposes

It helps users to find what they are looking for in the interior of the web site.

It helps the search engine spider bots find the interior pages to index and rank.

Once the sitemap has been created, remember to link to it from the home page and from the other relevant pages of your website.

10. SEO Link Popularity

Now that your web site is search engine optimized it is time to work on the off site optimization. One of the ways that Google will rank your web pages is by the number of high ranking sites that are linking to your site. These links are referred to as backlinks. There are several ways to do this and you should utilize all of them, if possible.

The first thing is to make sure you are providing high quality information for your readers.

Next submit articles to article directories, with links to your site in your resource box; visit forums, participate in conversations, and have links to your site pages in your signature file; build Squidoo lens and Hubpages, and link them to your site; create videos with embedded links to your site, and submit the videos to all of the video sites such as YouTube; submit your site to site directories; create a blog, and link to your web site; leave comments on high ranking blogs; lastly, bookmark your site pages, there are thousands of bookmarking sites to choose from, where you can leave links to your site.

I do need to mention this, just in case you don’t know – DO NOT SPAM – any of the above sites. You will be barred and loose your accounts.

I know this all sounds like a lot of work, and it is, but creating a business online selling products is not something that will happen overnight. It is a process that builds slowly with time.

By using any, or all of these SEO website tips will not only help you to create those backlinks for the search engines, they will also aide in bringing more traffic to your site. If you follow these 10 SEO website tips that I have provided here, you can pretty much guarantee the success of your website being found and ranked by the search engines.
